What makes the Dominican Republic the most popular Caribbean destination

The first week of October saw the Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2022 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Given the attendance at the event, it is safe to say that the Caribbean is gearing up to accommodate the growing demand from MICE tourists.

The Caribbean has experienced a significant increase in foreign arrivals since 2021, which is encouraging and indicates that there is room for significant growth by 2024.

Recent years have seen the Caribbean benefit from high-spending tourists because of its seclusion and aesthetics. The three most common Caribbean travel types are luxury, business, and specialty vacations.

In 2021, the Dominican Republic led the Caribbean region in foreign visitors with over 5.7 million, followed by Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Cuba. The Dominican Republic is the second-most populous in the Caribbean and is known for its cigars, rum, chocolate, coffee, merengue, amber, and larimar, as well as its rich history and cultural attractions.

So, here’s taking a quick look at the Dominican Republic destination.
